What if feelings had feelings? It appears to be the focus of Pixar’s most recent movie in 2015. And with that, they produced Inside Out, probably one of the finest Pixar movies in recent memory that appealed to both children and adults. The film received favorable reviews and eventually won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Set Sail For A Funny Tale Animated TV Series

A sequel typically follows immediately, as it did with some of the most popular Pixar movies. Inside Out has just been added to the list. Although not the first, it won’t be the last, either. Nevertheless, it’s great to see one of Pixar’s most recent and well-liked films get a new tale.

Who will play the lead role in this movie, though? And when will it be made available? While we wait for the release of Inside Out 2 in theaters, there are a few things you should bear in mind about your concerns and questions.

In 2024, Inside Out two will be released.

We won’t see Inside Out 2 animation for at least two years, so don’t plan on seeing it on the 2022 movie release calendar. Inside Out 2’s anticipated release date of 2024 was officially announced during the 2022 D23 Expo and tweeted to the Pixar Twitter account. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has decided to release the movie on June 14, 2024.

Inside Out 2’s release date and if it is available on Disney+ are two things that are yet unknown. Pixar hasn’t veered from distributing some of its films on the streaming service in the past; Turning Red, Soul, and Luca all had exclusive Disney+ releases. Although Lightyear was released in theaters, its box office performance fell short of expectations, so who knows what will happen with Inside Out 2 animation.

Amy Poehler Returns as Joy

Oh, Joy! This is a pleasant day since Amy Poehler will reprise her role as Joy, the primary emotion from the original Inside Out that we closely watched. It’s exciting to learn that she will be there for the sequel since it was confirmed at the time of the D23 announcement. Although Poehler has played many fantastic character parts, I have always loved the voice she used for Joy.

Whether anyone from the initial lineup of emotions will return has not yet been revealed. If you forgot, these celebrities were Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, and Mindy Kaling. There have also been some suspicions that some of the original movie’s stars could not return. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the cast in the upcoming months.

Riley will be a teenager when Inside Out 2 animation takes place.

This is something that I am eager to see, so bring on the boy bands and “it’s not a phase, mum!” Inside Out two will take place in Riley’s teenage mind, which Amy Poehler also confirmed at the D23 Expo.

It would be interesting to peek into Riley’s thoughts during her adolescent years. Even though I’m 23 (soon to be 24), I still vividly recall what it was like to be a teenager and all the crazy things that were occurring at the time. And I do enjoy a good coming-of-age tale.

Fresh Feelings Will Be Introduced

This concept both frightens and thrills me. Additionally, during the D23 Expo, it was stated that Riley’s mental state would change for Inside Out 2 animation. It is unknown what feelings she may experience, but I can only speculate what they might be.

Will it be the familiar feelings teens experience throughout those years, such as love? Or are we going to experience more intense emotions like anxiety? I’m pretty interested to see where this leads.

The director will be Kelsey Mann.

Although Mann hasn’t previously directed a Pixar feature picture, he has been a part of several creative teams. He contributed to The Good Dinosaur’s story and was a creative consultant for the entertaining Disney+ original series Monsters at Work. He also contributed to the report for Onward and was a member of the creative team for Lightyear.

Pete Docter, who is now, in my opinion, Pixar royalty, was the director of the previous movie. Monsters, Inc., Up, and Soul are my favorite Pixar movies. Thus Docter has unquestionably established himself in the animation industry. But I’m interested to see what a new vision can add to a sequel to an iconic film like Inside Out.
