Mummies (2023 film)
Spanish computer-animated film Mummies (Spanish: Momias), directed by Juan Jess Garca Galocha in 2023 (in his feature directorial debut), is based on a screenplay by Jordi Gasull and Javier López Barreira and a narrative by Gasull. Joe Thomas, Eleanor Tomlinson, Celia Imrie, Hugh Bonneville, and Sean Bean all lend their voices to the film. The movie follows three mummies as they go to modern-day London in quest of a stolen royal family ring that was taken by a vain archeologist. The movie’s theatrical debut in Spain and the US will take place on February 24, 2023, after initially being slated for release in 2021.

As part of a collaboration between Atresmedia Cine and Warner Bros. Espaa, Mummies was slated for release in 2021 under the name Moomios. But after two extra years of manufacturing, it was postponed until 2023 and given its present name. On October 31, 2022, the initial trailer was made available. The movie will be released on February 24, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures in Spain and the US. On January 5, 2023, the movie made its debut in other countries, starting with Australia. On March 31, 2023, the movie will be released in the UK and Ireland.
Three mummies from ancient Egypt who live in a mysterious underground city in the movie experience some amusing experiences. A princess, a former charioteer, his younger brother, and their pet baby crocodile make up the group. The mummies go to modern-day London through a sequence of tragic occurrences and set out on an absurd and amusing quest to find an ancient ring that belonged to the Royal Family but was taken by the ambitious archaeologist Lord Carnaby.
