Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
A forthcoming stop-motion animated comedy called Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget was created by the French company StudioCanal and the British studio Aardman Animations in collaboration with Netflix. The movie, a follow-up to the year 2000’s Chicken Run, will be helmed by Sam Fell from a narrative by Fell and a screenplay by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget Summary
A quiet island haven for the entire flock, away from the horrors of the human world, is Ginger’s eventual destination after pulling off a life-defying escape from Tweedy’s British farm. Ginger’s happy ending appears to be complete when she and Rocky give birth to a daughter they call Molly. However, the entire chicken species is now exposed to a new, horrific threat on the mainland. This time, Ginger and her squad are breaking in—even if it means jeopardizing their hard-won freedom!
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget Storyline
When Molly hatches, Ginger’s happy ending is almost complete after fleeing from Tweedy’s Farm. Molly, however, grows out of the island swiftly and leaves for the mainland. Information about a new lethal threat attempting to wipe out all hens on the continent becomes available. Dr. Fry intends to make chicken nuggets out of every fowl in his laboratory. Ginger and her crew decide to leave their freedom behind, head to the mainland, infiltrate Dr. Fry’s fortified facility, and rescue all the hens when he captures Molly and realizes she is about to die.

Progression of movie
On April 26, 2018, Chicken Run’s sequel was unveiled. Although unlike the first movie, neither DreamWorks Animation nor its parent company, Universal Pictures, will be involved in the sequel. Aardman Animations will reunite with StudioCanal because DreamWorks ended their partnership with Aardman in January 2007 following the release of Flushed Away on November 3, 2006.
Flushed Away co-director Sam Fell is set to helm, with Paul Kewley and Nick Park serving as producers. Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, the authors of the first Chicken Run novel, will return to pen the sequel. Executive producers will include Peter Lord and David Sproxton, co-founders of Aardman.
Which was before
The movie’s pre-production officially started on October 16, 2019. Netflix acquired the film’s global distribution rights, except China, on June 23, 2020.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget Casting
On June 23, 2020, it was revealed that Mel Gibson would not return to the role of Rocky the Rooster from the first movie. His character is expected to be recast in its place, as Winona Ryder has accused Gibson of making an antisemitic remark to her in 1995 while they were both attending a party. Upon learning that her character as Ginger might be replaced with a younger actress because the movie’s producers thought her voice sounded “too elderly,” Julia Sawalha expressed her outrage on July 10, 2020. Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levi, who had previously played the roles of Ginger, Rocky, Jane Horrocks, Imelda Staunton, and Lynn Ferguson, respectively, were revealed as the new Ginger and Rocky on January 20, 2022. Bella Ramsey, Romesh Ranganathan, David Bradley, and Daniel Mays have all been hired in unspecified capacities.
